"Gethsemane"
The slightly larger than life-size
bronze of Christ praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, was commissioned
for the prayer garden of North Greenville College in Tigerville, South
Carolina. The clay form, pictured here, was taken to the foundry August
5, 2004.
The lighter colored clay is
softer and is the clay that was used in the creation of the "Shoeless
Joe" statue. The darker clay is a medium clay. Using the softer clay
for all flesh areas and the medium clay for the clothing created the even
more life-like clay figure shown. The bronze figure, however, was covered
in the same patina over the entire piece.
